Who are we?

Mani Blends is not your ordinary spice company. We prioritize using REAL ingredients for REAL food that tastes REAL good.

Mani Blends was birthed in 2020 by Timani Walker, a trained chef who studied Culinary Arts, and Nutrition & Food Science. We spent two years researching and developing recipes that are loved by many. We aim to provide a perfect blend that enhances your dishes and provides a well-rounded flavor.

The purpose of Mani Blends is to simplify cooking by doing the hard work for you. Every blend is meticulously curated only using WHOLE ingredients whose flavors mesh (no enhancers needed). Our technique of only creating in small batches allows us to maintain the correct ratio and keep a consistent product.

OUR PROCESS

OUR INGREDIENTS

Our transparency is what makes us so unique. We are intentional with the ingredients we use. With a background in Nutrition, I wanted to use my knowledge to provide a product that not only tastes good but gives our customers the confidence of knowing that they're consuming something real. EVERY ingredient we use in our blends is listed in the ingredient list on our bottles & bags. No secrets here!

What's Rice Hulls?

Rice Hulls are the outer shell coverings of rice. Hulls are an organic matter that is composed of silica and lignin. Rice Hulls have a high fiber content that is hard to eat or swallow unless finely ground. When added to our blends, there's no effect on taste, flavor, or texture.

Why do we use it?

Some varieties of blends have a tendency to clump faster than others. This can be from different variables: oils, particle size, moisture, or improper storing techniques. Naturally, powders clump faster due to components being broken down into micro-particles causing them to be tightly packed. When introduced to moisture, it causes clumping.

We don't add rice hulls to all of our blends, but in the ones that contain it, we use 1%-2% of Rice hulls of the total weight to keep our blends free-flowing. Taking care of your blends (found on the care card) also helps keep your spices fresh and potent for the life of the product.

What is the industry standard?

In the food manufacturing industry, it is standard for companies to use silica dioxide as an anti-caking agent. Although this chemical is composed of natural materials (oxygen+ silicon), there's still research needed for the long-term effects on the body. The FDA  (Food & Drug Administration) deems this additive safe in small amounts though there's still more to be learned.
